Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network

Mill Valley, CA

The Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) is dedicated to bringing the voices and leadership of diverse women into the global movement for climate action. Their guiding principles are: The Rights of Women, The Rights of Indigenous Peoples, The Rights of Nature, and The Rights of Future Generations.

Through events, trainings, advocacy, and organizing, WECAN engages grassroots activists, Indigenous and business leaders, scientists, policy makers, farmers, academics, and culture-shapers, and brings forward the voices of frontline and Indigenous women at both local and international levels. WECAN is remarkable for creating women-led spaces that include song, story, and ritual, bringing a spark of life and embodied Earth connection into spaces of international climate negotiations.
