Inspired by the writing of Linda Hogan, Robert Hass, Wendell Berry, and Dara McAnulty, “The Environment Is in You” student photography and original illustration contest invited students to take a photograph or create an original illustration that documents the fragility, hope, and future of our planet in the face of climate change.
Asked to consider how their local ecosystems have changed over the last few years and create a piece of artwork that would tell that story, nearly four hundred students from around the world submitted their work. The images they created captured the living world from multiple perspectives, including landscapes, plants, animals, and sea life, while including themselves in inventive ways.
